Doctors of the World Project Netherlands
"Ärzte der Welt e.V." is the German branch of the international network "Médecins du Monde / Doctors of the World". The network Doctors of the World organises more than 350 health programmes in more than 80 countries (international and national projects). Primary heath care for everyone - not only in so called developing countries. We also take a stand for heath care programmes in Europe, for the marginalised in our society. In 2011, the members of the network conducted 190 health programmes in their own countries.

About the theme:
We want these designs to take on the role of a snapshot in time representing the 21st century and showing what is going on.
How did we come up with the idea to design flags?
One morning, we realised that we can organise our own day relatively well - quite in contrast to the soldiers. While we master our daily life, the soldiers of many nations often don't know whether or not they will return to their base safely. We especially want to honour the soldiers for their service, as they are ready to give their life and take a loss for the safety of our country and their country of deployment.
- That's what we want to express with this T-shirt.
- This message is true for all flags and all nations which stand up for peace.

The Dutch armed forces consist of an army (26,000 members), air force (11,050 members), navy (10,500 members, including 2,830 marines) and the Koninklijke Marechausse (6,800 members) which serves as the military police for the army, navy and air force. For example, they carry out policing and security tasks at national airports. In 2011, the decision was taken to reduce its members by 10,000. The Dutch armed forces defend their borders and the Antilles. They are also deployed internationally within the UN and support civilian organisations with law enforcement, disaster management and humanitarian aid at home and abroad.
